While going through my pictures for anything car related (the Frifotos theme for the week), I happened across this image from my teenage years. Its a picture of my father and I witnessing the arrival of his latest project, a 1969 Buick Lesabre.
He loved to fix things. Back in the mid 80's, he got a deal on a Trans Am that some someone had taken out some of their aggression on with a sledgehammer. He fixed it up himself and he wanted to pass on that feeling and sense of accomplishments to his sons, so he bought this.
This was the time before Google, so all the work was done through Chilton manuals and trial and error. Luckily, he had quite the tool collection, so there was very little we couldn't get done.
He passed away before we could finish (well, start) the project, but it makes for some good stories and memories.
