In June of 2013, in the middle of a 120 degree heat stretch, I thought it would be a good idea to go to Sedona Arizona. What follows are some pictures with some stories of the adventure(s) that were had.
Yes it was very hot (dry heat or now, 120 is HOT), but we still managed to get out early and do some tours and hikes each morning before it became to unbearable.
When we weren't hiking (and hiding out in air conditioning) one of the neatest things done while out there was a visit to Jerome. It is a little mountain town that has a ghost town!!
We were not the only ones to have some excitement. There were thunderstorms in the area, and while it didn't rain, there was plenty of lightning. The "Willie Nelson" looking man lived in the trailer seen below. The tree outside his home was struck by lightning! The local fire department responded and warned everyone to stay away, not because they were worried people were going to get burned, but because the house was filled with live ammunition!
